Building a prosperous future for Seram Bagian Timur requires the active participation of all its community. Rooted in the philosophy of "Ita Wotu Nusa" (Let’s Build Our Negeri), Sercova is committed to ensuring that development is inclusive, equitable, and transformative.
On November 25 and 26, 2025, Sercova took a significant step toward this vision by hosting Gender Equality workshops in Negeri Belis and Negeri Waru. These sessions aimed to move beyond mere attendance, empowering women and marginalized groups to become active decision-makers in their own communities.
The first step toward change is awareness. During the training, community members explored the core essentials of gender equality.
The sessions focused on:
A key highlight of the workshop was strengthening institutional capacity. Sercova worked closely with village leaders to introduce gender mainstreaming, a strategy to ensure that the unique needs and aspirations of both men and women are integrated into every stage of development.
By placing equality at the heart of village policy, leaders are now better equipped to ensure that village planning and budgeting reflect every voice. This approach ensures that policies are not only inclusive but also serve the entire community effectively.
This mission was achieved through a powerful synergy with the Village Community Empowerment Agency (DPMD) of SBT Regency, led by the Head of the Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) field. The program featured expert presentation and interactive Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) that allowed participants to voice local challenges and brainstorm community-led solutions.
The energy throughout these two days in Belis and Waru was a testament to the bright, inclusive future of Seram Bagian Timur. As Sercova continues its work across the 17 project villages, the spirit of Ita Wotu Nusa remains the guiding light.
